Guys please don't download this, you'll be banned from the MMP Discord server, thus banned from the actual game if it comes out(it's been confirmed by a moderator that they're putting in the efforts to make a game theme other than Mario so they can release it to the public safely). If you want to play this game safely, I'd recommend joining the MMP Discord server and hopefully get scouted by the staff to become a beta tester, it may sound stupid to do all this just to play a game, but it's worth a shot.
EDIT:I know I'm really late, but to the people who waited patiently without trying to get scouted(which is no longer a thing), a public demo of mario SINGLEverse is out on MMP.
Dude! I followed all the steps. I patched the game and tried to open the map editor. But, it tells me Empty Config! WTF is going on? Pls EthanLuigi pls tell me how to do this! Also it sucks that I can't play other people's levels. Can we pls make that change to play levels pls and thanks!

Guys if you use the patcher it will ban you on discord. Try to NOT use the patcher or else you wont be able to download the real game when it comes out. The game works perfectly fine without the patcher. (you just cant play online levels)
Personally I'm not in particular need of the main level selector/online menu whatever you wanna call it. The map editor works completely fine and I'm 99% sure it doesn't give you a virus (I didn't use the patcher so i dont know if the patcher is the deciding factor for malware but either way). If catch a virus in the next month or so, I will definitely let everyone know, even if I cant tell if it came from the level editor or not.
Why do I have to own discord to play this game, I want to, but there is no way I'm getting discord just to play a silly little Mario game. There is no reason to need discord to play, you're just separating the people who wants to play this game from the people who can play this game. It would get WAY more downloads and likes if you made it available to the general audience. And I'm not trying to bag on it, it seems like a fun game from what I've seen of it, but making only run with discord is just plain stupid. Many people who want to play this game are under 13 and can't get discord.
I BEG of you to release it publicly because many people like me have to feasible way of playing it.
Unfortunately it makes you download discord so it can install a plugin on your account so the actual creators can blacklist your account so when the full thing does release, you will not be allowed to play it. I wouldn't be too pressed over it though. The game has been in development hell for over 5 years and has an extremely high chance of being shut down by Nintendo so a full release will probably never happen.
game won't load I'm pretty convinced that this whole thing is a sham unless someone can prove me wrong but I am pretty confident that this whole thing is just bullshit considering the fact the followed all the steps I needed before launching it but to no avail if anyone knows what Im doing wrong or if this truly is a sham please lemme know

When I try to "Load Mario Multiverse" in the patcher it says
No supported Version Found
Currently Supported Versions are:
7.8 (R6818)
5.22 (R4422)
[when I try to open the game it says "the game was crashed by an error"]
But when I patch the Map editor it patches
